![]() Annett Heads to CaliforniaRace Release posted on 03/02/2009 Eager for their hard work during the off-season to pay off, the No. 15 Germain Racing team will trek to the west coast this week for the Stater Brothers 300 at Auto Club Speedway in California. The second race of the NASCAR Nationwide Series season will allow the team to prove themselves after facing adversity at Daytona International Speedway. Electrical problems and tire troubles leading to two pit stops under green and a 35th place finish for driver Michael Annett in the Camping World 300. With the race in Daytona behind them, the No. 15 team moves forward with a positive outlook for the approaching Fontana race weekend. A good qualifying run and strong practice time at Daytona are keeping the team on track. Knowing what happened at Daytona was uncontrollable helps the Pilot Travel Centers/Hype Energy Drinks team and driver move into the Stater Brothers 300 with optimism. A talented pit crew lead by crew chief Bruce Cook and a driver focused on consistency should allow for both good qualifying and race performance at Auto Club Speedway. Cook noted, “I hate it for our guys that we had a hard day at Daytona, but we’re focused on California now. Daytona is behind us. There’s only one thing on this No. 15 team’s mind now, and that’s looking ahead to showing what we are capable of this weekend.” Driver Michael Annett remarked, “Consistent finishes are really what we are looking for this season. Our misfortune at Daytona doesn’t change our team’s outlook on the race at Auto Club Speedway. We are staying patient and look forward to a strong run in California.” This will be Annett’s first career race at Auto Club Speedway. Qualifying for the State Brothers 300 is scheduled for Saturday at 9:35 a.m. PST (12:35 p.m. EST).The Pilot Travel Centers/HYPE Energy Drinks Toyota Camry will take the green flag for Auto Club Speedway’s Stater Brothers 300 at For more information about Michael Annett please go to www.michaelannett.com or www.myspace.com/michaelannett. |
