Owens Corning Honors TMC With Global Award

Des Moines, IA November 7, 2011 — Owens Corning recently named TMC Transportation Global Supplier of the Year (indirect) and Enterprise Carrier of the Year.  This is the second consecutive year TMC has received the Enterprise Carrier of the Year award, which recognizes carriers' extraordinary commitment to service, safety and operational excellence for Owens Corning.

This is the first time TMC has been honored with the Global Supplier award. “In the almost 40 years we have been in business, this is the most prestigious award our company has ever been presented,” said Harrold Annett, TMC CEO and Chairman.  “I want to personally thank all of the great TMC employees who worked so hard and dedicated themselves to going above and beyond to put us in the position of being recognized by Owens Corning as a world class service provider.”

“We have worked hard to earn the trust and respect of everyone within the Owens Corning logistics group,” he continues.  “Our relationship with them truly exemplifies the meaning of a true partnership.  I also want to thank Mike Cramer, Owens Corning’s Director, Global Logistics and his great staff for the opportunity they have provided all of us at TMC.”

“These are the best of the best,” said Steve Nowak, vice president, global sourcing, during the event at the corporate offices in Toledo, Ohio. “Supplier of the Year represents the finest partners for our business,” he said. “Each of these companies is successful in its own right. You’re not going to be a top-notch supplier unless you’re a top-notch company yourself.”
A committee of Owens Corning people evaluated the suppliers and chose the winners. “The selection process was very difficult. We really focused on value-creation,” Nowak explained.
