Driver of the First Quarter – Michael Sutton

TMC is excited to announce that Michael Sutton has been chosen for the prestigious driver of the quarter award for the second quarter. Michael has been with TMC for 12 years, spending the majority of his tenure on the John Deere Specialized fleet.

Michael came to TMC directly from CDL school after spending 30 years in the shoe manufacturing industry. He held various managerial roles at Brown Shoes, Wolverine and Stride Rite. When the shoe industry began to move operations overseas, Michael Sutton decided it was time to find a new career. Since he was used to being away from home during the week, he though driving would be a good fit.

It has turned out to be a very good fit for him and his wife. "My instructor at CDL school told me TMC was the best and they hired me right away and I have never looked back," he remembers. "Everyone at TMC has been very good to me over the years. My fleet manager Chad Reece gives me the support I need and I have made a lot of great friends here."

"Mike is a true professional in every sense of the word," says fleet manager Chad Reece. "He is extremely dependable in good or bad weather and if he has delays or issues he communicates them to me so I can plan for the delay. Mike is polite and a good representative of TMC at the customers. He is also takes great care of the equipment and communicates to me when trailers need repairs etc. Mike is one of the true Profession Drivers on the road today! I am glad he is a part of my fleet on the John Deere division and TMC!

Michael and his wife of 39 years, Judi, have one son and four grandchildren. Michael likes to get home every weekend and spend time with his family. He says the best advice he can give to drivers new to driving is the best advice he was given over 12 years ago, "Take your time and learn how to do it the right way."
