TMC's Biggest Loser Competition Gets Big Results
Fifty-one TMC employees lost more than 600 pounds in the company's own version of The Biggest Loser. The 18-week Biggest Loser competition was part of TMC’s Road to Health wellness initiative. The program involved weekly weigh ins and corresponding weekly prizes. TMC's Biggest Loser was Glenda Miller, a fleet manager based in Joplin, Mo., with a total body weight percentage loss of 21 percent. Miller was awarded two paid vacation days for her accomplishments. "This is our third year holding a biggest loser competition and it is really exciting to see the changes people are making," says Erin Monahan, public relations manager and wellness coordinator. "It was inspiring week after week to see people reach their weight loss goals and give one another support." TMC's Road to Health wellness program began in January with a wellness fair at its Des Moines headquarters. Wellness activities are planned throughout the year that focus on nutrition, exercise and stress management for both office personnel and drivers. |
