Chuck Hunt
Chuck Hunt has been crisscrossing America's highways in his black and chrome TMC truck for nearly 18 years. With two million safe miles, thousands of loads delivered and many friends made, Chuck Hunt has decided to retire. Chuck has been a mentor to new drivers and a friend to many drivers on the road and in the office and shop. In his 18 years at TMC, Chuck's excellence in everything he does has earned him the driver of the quarter award and the prestigious Wheel Master award, which he received in 1999. For Chuck and his wife, Margaret, TMC has been a family affair. Chuck's wife, Margaret, took an active role at TMC, creating the Family Assistance Fund. When Chuck isn't on the road, he and Margaret enjoy fishing and playing with their grandchildren. Something Chuck is looking forward to doing more of during retirement. Although, Margaret says he has to clean out the garage before he does anything else. Chuck Hunt officially retires on October 12th and will turn in his truck at the Des Moines terminal. "Eighteen years later I still remember the day that Walt Annett handed me the keys to my first truck - 9200," he remembers. "Six weeks later I was in the shop and in walks Walt and, wouldn't you know it, he remembered me and my truck number. I couldn't believe out of the hundreds of drivers he could keep it all straight." TMC will celebrate Chuck's years of service and send him off in style with a luncheon on October 12th. We wish him and Margaret a happy and well deserved retirement. Below are a few well wishes from some of his friends at TMC. Click here for Chuck's photo gallery. "Chuck is one of those drivers most companies can only dream of having in the seat of one of their trucks. In the nearly 18 years Chuck
has been with TMC his performance has been absolutely flawless. He is a good man and I am proud to call him and his wife, Margaret, my
friends. I wish them both well in Chuck's retirement and hope they have many happy years they have both worked so hard for." "Chuck Hunt is one of the most experienced and professional drivers on the road. He is patient and understanding to all situations. I have never had a complaint from any customer about Mr. Hunt. He is dependable in any situation and if there is a delay or problem of any kind he is diligent in communicating that with me. I have been able to ask him questions over the years and learn from his experience and wisdom. I will miss working with Chuck on a daily basis, but wish him the absolute best in his retirement as he has earned the chance to go home and relax. One memory which I will never forget, early in my driving career here at TMC, I met Mr. Hunt for the first time one evening at Vincent Metals in Minneapolis, Minn. I was securing my load and asked him if he thought there was anything else I should do to the load or if I had enough securement on the load. Chuck calmly told me I had done a great job and one thing was for sure, he had never lost a load, nor would I, from over securement. Thanks for all of the years of hard work, dependability and professionalism, Chuck! Happy retirement! Margaret, thank you so much
for your sacrifices in supporting your husband's career and putting up with his being gone. I hope you both can enjoy some quality
time together now! "Chuck is a one of a kind guy. He's great to work with. Always safe on the road with making on-time deliveries, willing to help
out when needed and a team player. I have become long time friends with him and his wife, Margaret. Have a great retirement, Chuck. "I have known Chuck since 1991. We, in the safety department have never had any major issues with Chuck. He was always pro TMC and
did a good job for the company during his career. He will leave with over 16 years of accident free driving, which is something that
he can be very proud of. I wish the best for Chuck and Margaret in their life after TMC. |
