A Look Back at 2014

As we roll in to 2015, we’d like to take a look back at all the events that made the past year special.

At the beginning of 2014, our driver training center began utilizing Professional DynaMetric Programs, or PDP, to match each new driver to compatible trainers and fleet managers.

Early this year it was announced that TMC had earned recognition as a Partner-level supplier for 2013 in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. The Partner-level status is Deere & Company’s highest supplier rating.

Our Facebook page tipped the scales at 20,000 ‘likes’! By ‘liking’ our Facebook page, users can stay in the loop with TMC news and events.

We managed to become even more military- friendly! Once again, TMC was recognized as a Military Friendly Employer® by G.I. Jobs Magazine, and was also been named Most Valuable Employer for Military® Winner for 2014 by CivilianJobs.com. Even more, this year we partnered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes program and its partner FASTPORT to help transitioning military veterans find career opportunities.

This summer we made some exciting changes to improve the orientation experience for our new hires!

For the fourth year in a row, one of our very own was recognized as a top 10 finalist in the “Trucking’s Top Rookie” contest. TMC driver Dion Blair accepted his award at the Great American Truck Show in Dallas, TX this past August.

In September we celebrated Driver Appreciation Week. TMC drivers were treated to free meals and cook-outs, a free customized t-shirt, and had the opportunity to win great prizes by participating in daily trivia contests.

We celebrated our first full year of being an employee-owned company. With October being nationally recognized as “Employee Ownership Month” by the ESOP Association, we spent the entire month celebrating with a variety of employee-focused activities to raise awareness.

We’re proud to say that 2014 was a year of growth for our company. In addition to our driver fleet growth shown on the graph below, from 2013 to 2014 our logistics department has more than doubled in size

From all of us at TMC, thank you for helping to make 2014 great. We look forward to steering the Black & Chrome family toward a successful 2015!
