Working Hard for our Hard Working Drivers

In times of crisis, we seek support and comfort from others. There is a strong sense of community and helping the greater good when times feel uncertain. We often see that individuals rally together to help others and their communities, providing support to those who may need it the most. With global supply for masks in shortage, TMC employees figured out a way to not only keep drivers safe, but acknowledge the appreciation we all have for their hard work.

The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public to help slow the spread of the virus. A flood of TMC family and friends have volunteered their time to make cloth masks for drivers. Many volunteers spearheaded production on the masks, already having the material needed on hand. Volunteers who wanted to help but needed material were given material cut and packaged by a few ladies in our Information Technology Department (I.T.). As the masks are being sent in, a group of employees have been busy steaming and packaging them for delivery to drivers.

There is no guarantee that we will be able to get masks to every driver but we are working to get them into as many hands as possible, as quickly as we can. Engaging in our community through making masks and being a support system for our vast network of employees has created a sense of connection and community. This ‘social glue’ has brought TMC family and friends together to help those who help us the most – our drivers.
