Meet John Heine - TMC's New Transitioning Military Veteran Recruiter!
Meet the newest face in the TMC Recruiting Department, John Heine!
As part of our growth plans for 2017, we are expanding our military veteran hiring efforts. John Heine will be representing TMC Transportation at upcoming hiring events for transitioning military veterans throughout the year and for years to come.
John joins TMC Transportation with a wealth of professional and personal experience. He has recently retired from the Marine Corps after 20 impressive years of service. During those 20 years, he has served in many positions: Supply Clerk, Fiscal Manager, Operations Manager, Recruiter, and Squadron Gunnery Sergeant. He is excited about beginning this new challenge while still maintaining his connection with the military. John enjoys helping Veterans navigate new career opportunities as they approach a transition from the military. TMC Transportation also works with active duty and reservists; John understands the balance that they require.
“My experience transitioning out of the military was, of course, stressful in the beginning. Once I received that pre-hire letter from TMC it was about 50 pounds off my shoulders! I am looking forward to helping transitioning Veterans by basically putting them in my shoes because I went through the same process,” says John.
John will focus on getting information to Veterans about the truck driving opportunities at TMC, as well as providing guidance to those who are interested in taking advantage of our in-house Class A CDL training program. Veterans are often interested in understanding how to utilize their G.I. Bill benefits while employed with us, in addition to the ins and outs of flatbed hauling with TMC Transportation. John knows very well the myriad of questions that transitioning Veterans have, and he wants to be there to support them through it.
“TMC has been great throughout the whole transition process. The structure TMC Transportation has is excellent and well-organized, and there’s a great team atmosphere here. I look forward to helping others come aboard and explaining to them how they can continue using their VA benefits,” says John.
John will be in attendance at the upcoming Dallas Hiring Expo on January 31st at the American Airlines Center, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Hiring Expo on February 27th at the Xcel Energy Center, and the Service Member Transition Summit on March 7th-8th at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. All of these events are associated with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes program. View other upcoming events in your area where you can potentially meet with John here.
