Tramell Bonaparte Named TMC's Trainer of the Month for August 2017

posted by on Thursday, September 28, 2017

Tramell joined the team at TMC a little over three years ago, and after gaining some industry experience, he decided it was time to move into a training role. He has now been training for two years and while they have proven to be successful, things weren’t always smooth sailing for Tramell when he started.

“I had a tough start here,” said Tramell. “Some people were doubtful, but I told them I wanted to go out there and learn; and I did.”

“Tramell will be the first to tell you that when he started with TMC, he was rough,” said Jeff Geist, Training Coordinator Manager. “He came a long way to get where he is today, and his hard work has paid off.”

“I feel it is important to be able to share my experiences and the skills I learned over time with new drivers so I can help them do the job the right way,” said Tramell. “I know if I can do it, then anyone can do it.”

Since starting his training, Tramell has enjoyed the experience of meeting new people, and it has helped him look back on his journey here and how far he has come. “I use that memory to make sure I’m training the right way and for the right reasons,” he says.  “I take a more laid back approach to my training, but I’m very thorough when it comes to TMC policy.”

Tramell’s advice to new drivers is to practice patience and keep safety at the forefront. “Just take your time and stay level-headed,” he says. “It will all come together in the end.”

Driver trainers are vital to the TMC training department, and each month a trainer is chosen who demonstrates the outstanding qualities TMC looks for in a trainer. The Trainer of the Month recipient is chosen based on their safety record and the safety performance of their trainees, the number of drivers trained and the retention percentage of those drivers. Congratulations to our August 2017 Trainer of the Month, Tramell Bonaparte!
