Pete Arzoumanian Named Driver of the Quarter

on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 in Awards & Recognition

With more than 10 years’ safe driving and 745,000 safe miles, Pete Arzoumanian is a great example of TMC’s commitment to excellence. And as a driver trainer at TMC, he’s passing on his skills and TMC’s culture to the next generation of flatbed drivers. That’s why we’re proud to recognize him as the Driver of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2025. Read on to learn more about Pete and how he has made a name for himself at TMC.

Work Ethic and Mindset

Pete says he likes driving flatbed in part because it allows him to stay active while he’s working. “I don’t want to get fat and lazy. I like doing something,” he says.

Pete’s approach to driving is defined by this strong work ethic: “I just do my job and don’t complain,” he says.

This mindset has made him a driver that the entire Operations team knows they can depend on. “Pete puts 100% into everything he does, and it shows, not just to me, but to everyone in Operations and Customer Service,” says Amber Reynolds, Pete’s fleet manager. “He is safe and trustworthy, and I know I can count on him at all times.”

“He is selfless, always willing to do whatever is needed, and constantly in the right place because of his work ethic and buy-in to company core values,” says Kyle Miller, Operations Manager.

Training New Drivers

In 2019, Pete became a driver trainer. Over the last six years, he has trained more than 70 drivers, and he was named TMC’s Trainer of the Month in April 2022.

At TMC, driver trainers serve a vital role in helping new drivers develop the skills and habits they need in order to have successful flatbed driving careers. They help trainees apply what they’ve learned in our classroom training program and become comfortable with life on the road.

Over the course of TMC’s four-week over-the-road training program, Pete works with his trainees to ensure they know how to be safe and efficient in their own truck. “I spend the first week figuring out what they need work on, and the next three weeks fixing that,” he says. “I concentrate on what they’re bad at. Their skills slowly build.”

Pete says that patience is the key to being a good trainer. “These guys are new, they’re gonna make mistakes,” he says of trainees. “You have to be patient.”

And the training relationship doesn’t end when Pete’s trainees get their own truck. Many of them keep in touch and reach out to him when they need help or advice in a tricky situation.

“I tell them, ‘Call me before the stupid thing happens,’” he laughs. “If they need help with trip planning or finding parking or anything else, they know they can call me and I’ll help them out.”

Working with the Operations Team

Throughout his 10 years with TMC, Pete has enjoyed working with his Operations team, including Amber and Kyle. “They always communicate with me,” Pete says. “If I ask something, they’ll give me an answer. If I need to be home for something, they get me home.”

For much of Pete’s time at TMC, Kyle has been his operations manager, and the two have built a great relationship throughout their years working together. “Kyle was really helpful when I first started,” Pete notes.

Even when Pete was reporting to a different operations manager, Kyle still kept in touch with him and even called him during Driver Appreciation Week, just to check in and thank him for his hard work.

‘I Just Do My Job’

Pete says he was surprised to be named Driver of the Quarter. “I’m not really an accolades kind of guy. I just do my job,” he says. “I didn’t get into this for all the stickers and awards—that’s never been me.”

Despite this humble, no-nonsense attitude—or perhaps because of it—Pete stands out in TMC’s fleet of great drivers. “Pete encompasses everything we want to see in a TMC driver,” Amber says.

Kyle agrees. “TMC is a better company because of drivers like Pete Arzoumanian,” he says.

Congratulations to Pete for being named Driver of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2025! Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to helping new drivers succeed.
