TMC Names Chris Weik Driver of the Quarter

TMC is proud to announce that our Driver of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2021 is Chris Weik. Since getting his first truck in 1977, Weik continues to exemplify an uncompromising dedication to TMC’s high standards. Weik recently paid off his fifth truck and is pushing nearly four million safe miles with TMC. Astonishingly, in spite of his impressive record, he said he didn’t plan to make it this far in the industry!

“I was going to quit after the first million miles, then two came along and then three million, and here I am,” he said. Weik said driving a truck is not for everyone, but it’s a career he has come to love, in part thanks to TMC.

“I’ve got a work ethic ten times more than most have. It’s a way of life besides a job, once you get into the swing of things it all comes together. And TMC is probably the most honorable trucking company there is to work for.”

Weik came to TMC after Annett Holdings acquired PFT Trucking. Now 27 years into the industry, Weik’s Operations Manager said his knowledge of the industry is like no other.

“He is one of the most loyal people I’ve ever known. His understanding and trust are second to none. He goes out of his way to take care of our customers, in ways I have never heard of before. This is well deserved for Chris,” Kyle Miller, Weik’s Operations Manager said.

During Weik’s tenure, he’s seen many parts of the country, completing a tour of the lower 48 states and parts of Canada. He said one of his favorite sites through the years is witnessing grizzly bears catch salmon during a salmon run. He said a lot has changed about the trucking industry. He recalls a time where he would cook on his truck’s engine.

“It has changed a lot over the years, but a lot of drivers have no idea how easy it is now. They have automatics and they have this and that. I do miss the old days sometimes, but there is no chance I’d go back to paper logs again,” Weik said.
