Zachary Gracey, Employee-Owner of the Quarter

Zachary Gracey Named Logistics Employee-Owner of the Quarter

on Thursday, September 11, 2025 in Awards & Recognition

Logistics Sales Executive Zachary Gracey has only been with TMC Logistics since January of this year, but he has already made quite an impact. He’s a natural leader who combines real-world trucking experience with sales expertise, and he even set a company record by booking his very first load just three days out of training.

For all these reasons, we’re proud to recognize Zach as the Logistics Employee-Owner of the Quarter for Q2 of 2025.

Building on Experience and Training

Zach brought a unique combination of experience with him when he started at TMC Logistics’ Brownsburg office: he had a background in sales, but he had also spent time as an over-the-road driver.

General Manager Kevin Duff says that Zach draws on his driving experience to provide outstanding service to customers.

“He brings a level of expertise that shippers don’t always think about—the driver’s perspective,” Kevin says. “I hear him tell customers all the time, ‘I was a driver. I understand what it takes to make the driver successful, and here’s why it may require this or that. It might cost a little more, but it will make your shipment successful.’ He’s great at asking the right questions, staying thoughtful and curious, and ultimately giving customers a different kind of experience.”

Zach also took full advantage of TMC’s immersive training program, which helped him further refine his sales skills and understand TMC’s culture and approach to sales. Once he completed training, Zach hit the ground running, quickly booking his first load.

Zach never loses focus and has appreciated our sales strategy and process from day one,” says Mike Crist, Executive Vice President of Logistics. “With his success in sales, I am glad to see trusting the process has loved him back.”

Mindset Makes the Difference

While his training and experience have played a definite role in Zach’s success, Kevin emphasizes that his mindset and attitude have been important factors as well.

“He’s very focused,” Kevin says. “Everything he does, he does with intention around what he's doing. He never comes into a day without a plan—which doesn't mean he's rigid to his plan. He is willing to pivot when he needs to.”

Logistics Sales Manager Alyssa Hyndman agrees that Zach’s attitude sets him apart. “Zach has been a breath of fresh air to the Brownsburg team. He was the first new hire in quite some time that came in with complete focus, desire, and determination, factors which have ultimately led to his rapid rise to success,” she says. “Zach has proven himself an asset to both the Brownsburg team and TMC, and I look forward to what the future holds for him.”

Kevin adds that Zach may not be the most vocal leader, but he always leads by example. “He shows up every day and does the work that’s asked of him, and he does it with a smile and with intention,” he says.

Looking Forward to the Future

In his short time at TMC Logistics, Zach has already shown himself to be a leader who knows how to use his skills and experience to provide great service for his customers. We’re proud to recognize Zach as the Employee-Owner of the Quarter and excited to see what he’ll accomplish next. Congratulations, Zach!
