U.S. Special Operations Command Visits TMC

On Nov. 14, 2014 TMC hosted members of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) who came to observe the weekend-long load securement training program. Based in Ft. Bragg, NC, USSOCOM is a unified command created by the U.S. Department of Defense and is responsible for synchronizing Department of Defense plans against global terrorist networks and, as directed, conducting global operations*.

Our visitors, SFC Brandon Nightthunder and SFC Hernandez Wilson, explained that as the Army continues to expand its transport operations on the nation’s highways, they need to begin gaining more insight into DOT-specific regulations regarding flatbed cargo securement.

USSOCOM could not have chosen a better company to learn from. Not only does TMC offer industry-leading flatbed training, but we’re also one of the most military-friendly trucking companies in the nation. In fact, thirty-six percent of the TMC fleet is comprised of current or former service members.

TMC has been designated a Military Friendly Employer® by G.I. Jobs Magazine, and has also been named Most Valuable Employer for Military® Winner for 2013 and 2014 by CivilianJobs.com.  In June 2012, we pledged to hire 500 veterans by the year 2014 in conjunction with the Hiring Our Heroes program. The company exceeded that goal and pledged to hire an additional 500 veterans by the year 2015. Most recently, TMC partnered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes program and its partner FASTPORT to help transitioning military veterans find career opportunities.
