October is Employee Ownership Month
You might already know that there is a financial benefit to having an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) as we have at TMC. But there is another perk that you might not have considered: a culture of pride and excellence that flows not from “me” but from “us”. We have an additional purpose for working together for the success of all employee-owners. We all want to be successful, of course. ESOPs encourage employees to not only help themselves, but to lift each other up, collaborate, grow, and celebrate our success together.
Since becoming employee-owned in 2013, we have seen dramatic yearly growth in our share price and contributions. An ESOP is an additional wealth-building asset to employees’ compensation package. As such, it makes sense that we care about the overall success of the company – not just our own jobs. The supportive things that we do to ensure the future financial success of TMC, consequently are the contributing factors that nurture our culture of excellence.
