Veteran driver, Horatio Inniss, has been named TMC’s Driver of the 3rd Quarter for 2015. Horatio has been with the company for just over 15 years and has built an outstanding reputation.

After spending several years in the Army and the National Guard, Horatio jumped into the trucking industry in December of 2000. Since then, he has accumulated nearly two million safe driving miles and has a spotless record.

“Horatio is always professional, willing to help others and an asset to the company,” says Drew Parker, TMC Safety Manager. “He has 1.7 million safe miles, no cargo claims, and a CSA score of zero. His great safety record and attention to detail is what makes Horatio successful. I’m glad he is part of the TMC family.”

Horatio is very dedicated in his duties here at TMC, and enjoys sharing his passion with others. Aside from being an accomplished driver himself, he has found a calling in training and producing proficient drivers for TMC as well. Horatio started training incoming drivers just one year after he got in his own truck. Since then, he has been named Trainer of the Month four times, and in 2003 he earned the prestigious title of Trainer of the Year.

“When I first started in the industry, I didn’t know anything about trucking, but I knew I wanted to be successful,” Horatio explains. “I’ve always been a people person and wanted to help out and share my talents. There’s a lot of money to be made out there, and it’s not just for one person, it’s for everybody.”

Having spent a total of 610 weeks training new drivers, Horatio is TMC’s most tenured trainer. He currently has his 118th trainee in the truck.

When it comes to having what it takes to being successful at TMC, Horatio finds it important both to put yourself in a good position and keep a positive outlook. “Work hard and take it for what it is,” he explains. “Always strive to be the best, but remember that things happen, and they happen for a reason.”

He’s worked hard to make a name for himself in the company, but overall, Horatio is really just a laid back guy and enjoys the relationships he’s developed here over the years. “There’s a sense of camaraderie at TMC. I like the friendly competition, but I’m also happy to see others succeed.”

We are very proud to have Horatio as a part of the TMC team. He truly exemplifies excellence.
