TMC Names Trainer of the Year for 2016

on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in Awards & Recognition

Congratulations to Andrew Theobald, TMC’s Driver Trainer of the Year for 2016! Andy has been a professional truck driver with TMC for nearly seven years, six of which he has been training new flatbed drivers for TMC Transportation.

Andy enjoys being a driver trainer. Driver training helps groom new drivers and build upon the future of TMC Transportation. “It is rewarding to watch my trainees get better and progress,” he says. “It is a fast-paced process; they’re growing and changing every day. I feel like my hard work is paying off.”

With perseverance and dedication, the earning potential at TMC is tremendous. This is a philosophy that Andy instills in his drivers. He advocates that driving your truck and securing your loads is only half of the business. Being safe, vigilant, and making good use of your time is essential to being successful in the flatbed trucking industry.

When a new driver gets in his truck to begin their driver training period, Andy takes a personalized approach. “I think it is important to cater to the individual needs of each trainee,” he explains. “Every new driver is different. I like to get on a personal level and relate to them so they feel comfortable in my truck. It makes it easier for them to focus on the task at hand.”

“Andy does a great job for TMC as a driver and as a trainer,” says Jeff Geist, Training Coordinator Manager. “He is level headed and thorough in his training. His success shows his dedication to doing things right and making sure his drivers are prepared for the job.”

Andy lives in Michigan where he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. Congratulations, again, to Andy on this astounding accomplishment. We are proud to call him a part of the TMC Family.
