Armaan Kang Named Logistics Employee-Owner of the Quarter

on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 in Awards & Recognition

Unflappable. That’s how General Manager Kevin Duff describes Armaan Kang.

He's as calm as still waters all the time, even when things are really busy,” Kevin says.

This calm, unflappable approach has allowed Armaan to handle some pretty big challenges in the nine months he’s worked at TMC Logistics, all with seeming ease. But underneath that still, calm surface, is a foundation of hard work and great relationship-building skills.

That’s why we’re so proud to recognize Armaan as the Logistics Employee-Owner of the Quarter for Q1.

Facing New Challenges

Armaan joined TMC Logistics’ Brownsburg office as a Logistics Sales Executive in August 2025. After completing a rigorous onboarding and training program, Armaan immediately showed that he had the right skills to success in logistics sales.

“He showed really, really strong aptitude,” Kevin says. “He's very smart, and he picked everything up really quick.”

At the same time, Account Executive Nicole Durbin was preparing to leave for maternity leave, and Regional Sales Executive Jen Kottka was looking for someone to fill Nicole’s shoes while she was out. Jen and Nicole are one of the most successful sales teams at TMC Logistics, so this was no small request.

Though Armaan had only been part of TMC for a few months, he stepped up to the plate and took on the responsibility of filling in for Nicole—and knocked it out of the park.

“When he took over for me while I was out, nothing missed a beat,” Nicole says. “He is great with customers and always knows what’s going on with loads.”

Jen agrees. “Armaan jumped right into the AE role when Nicole was out on maternity leave. He is a fast learner, and he exceeded expectations in the role.” Jen says Armaan was also able to bring additional value to her customers: “He brought a fresh perspective in many situations, to allow for additional conversation, discussion, and ultimately more business.”

During this time, Armaan not only took on the account executive role with ease, but he maintained his drive to build his own book of business, bringing on several new accounts while he was covering for Nicole.

Kevin says that Armaan’s ability to juggle both roles at once is what really impressed him. “He has the highest margin for a new logistics sales executive for Q1, but that doesn’t tell the whole story,” Kevin says. “He was able to start securing this business while he was doing another job that he wasn't hired for—that he ended up doing really great at—and then has been able to parlay that success into even greater success.”

Building Business—and Relationships

Since February, Armaan has returned to his Logistics Sales Executive role and been able to focus solely on developing his own network of customers.

His approach to building relationships with customers draws on his calm nature and his great communication skills.

He has an economy of words in how he deals with things. He's not flowery, he's not over the top, but he's just calm,” Kevin says. “He's great on the phone and talking to people, but his strength is his written communication. He's able to really relay a lot of information very succinctly and very quickly.”

Armaan’s communication skills have helped him build trust with customers, even when he needs to have difficult conversations. Kevin related that Armaan had to give some bad news to one of his biggest customers. And though the conversation wasn’t easy, Armaan handled it calmly and matter-of-factly.

Two days later, Kevin says, Armaan’s contact at the company called him back and said he was going to give TMC Logistics more of the company’s business—“because of how Armaan handled the situation,” Kevin notes.

Logistics Sales Manager Alyssa Hyndman emphasizes that Armaan’s achievements are even more remarkable in light of the difficult freight market he stepped in to. “Armaan has set a great example for the Brownsburg team and shown that, even during difficult times in the market, there are still new customers out there if you are willing to put in the work,” she says.

Though it’s impossible to know what the future holds for Armaan, Kevin says that he shows “no signs of slowing down—just more momentum.” We’re proud to recognize Armaan as the Employee-Owner of the Quarter for Q1 and excited to see what he’ll accomplish throughout his time with TMC.
